Maria joined LHC in 2019 and is a qualified urban designer and agriculture engineer with combined experience in both fields. She has a wide experience of designing for mixed-use and all scales of residential masterplanning undertaken across the UK. Her primary interest is in creating public spaces that work not only aesthetically, but socially and economically. Maria has particular expertise in creating strong, site-specific design concepts and crafting innovative responses to difficult design challenges.
Her work prior to joining LHC included the Design Guide for a mixed-use development on a redundant factory site in Keynsham which included 700 dwellings, employment, school, care home and local centre; and as lead masterplanner for a proposed new settlement near York, with a vision to create a self sufficient new community that harnesses cutting edge design approaches to become a leading model for sustainable development.
