Josef Horner

Associate

Josef is a talented Chartered Architect who joined LHC Design in 2013, and is responsible for day-to-day design and management of projects across all RIBA work Stages as well as client liaison.

He has broad experience across the residential and education sectors. As a certified Passive House designer Josef has a keen interest in and experience of holistic, high quality, low energy building design.

Prior to joining LHC, Jo lived and worked in Tianjin, China working as part of a team designing large scale mixed-use commercial developments.

Jo also gained hands-on experience of design/renovation on smaller scale projects on his return to the UK. A key focus on conservation and material testing equipped him well for future challenges at LHC Design involving listed buildings.

Recent projects include a low energy home based on Passive House principles, the conversion of the historic Oliver Buildings in Barnstaple into residences and retail, the delivery of a technical package of information for 185 homes at Tolgus Farm in Redruth, an extension to Cann Bridge Special School in Plymouth and the remodelling and refurbishment of student accommodation for major providers.
